The Jalan Museum, nestled in the heart of Patna, is a treasure trove of India’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Established in 1954, it was envisioned as a space to preserve and showcase the remarkable artifacts of India’s diverse past. Today, it stands as a testament to history, art, and craftsmanship.The museum boasts over 10,000 artifacts, ranging from ancient coins and manuscripts to intricate sculptures and paintings. Highlights include a rare collection of Mughal era jewelry, 19th-century British memorabilia, and exquisite stone carvings from the Mauryan period.

The story of the Jalan Museum began when Raja Bahadur Jalan, a passionate collector, decided to share his personal collection with the world. Over decades, the museum has grown from a small personal archive to a world-renowned institution. It has hosted over a million visitors and collaborated with international museums to bring global exhibitions to Patna.At Jalan Museum, our vision is to bridge the gap between history and the present. We aim to inspire curiosity and learning among all age groups by offering interactive exhibits, workshops, and guided tours

The museum is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Saturday. We offer guided tours, a children’s corner, and a state-of-the-art auditorium for educational events.
